What you’ll be doing…
The Maintenance Planning team is responsible for implementing the airline’s Approved Maintenance Program and acquitting all maintenance requirements (planned and un-planned) in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring no overdue maintenance requirement and undue restrictions to the operation.
The Line Planning Engineer position is a Brisbane based, permanent, part-time position (0.5 FTE) which involves working day and night shifts on a rotational basis. This role will be situated at our operations centre which is located in Southbank and is a unique part-time opportunity that offers a great work, life and balance!
The position will include:
- Overseeing the daily maintenance plan acquittal and finalising the upcoming plan for hangar and gate maintenance to ensure optimal efficiency within our capacity agreements.
- Liaising with engineering and maintenance stakeholders to resolve production issues ensuring that maintenance tasks are carried out when planned to standards and deadlines.
- Coordinating resources and facilities to ensure work packages are achievable, completed to the standards required whilst protecting our fleet operational availability.
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Have a minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering/aircraft maintenance for an airline that operates aircraft that are the same, or of a similar complexity as the aircraft operated by Virgin Australia
- Hold a certification in Aeroskills (minimum cert IV) or a relevant tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work requirements in an operationally fluid and fast paced environment
- Have a working knowledge of OEM maintenance manuals and documentation
- Have a working knowledge of an aircraft structure and systems, including the propulsion system for aircraft/engine types operated by the airline, or of similar aircraft type and complexity
- Understand maintenance planning concepts
- Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office (Intermediate or Advanced)
- Understand the maintenance assessment process (MSG-3) and Approved Maintenance Programs for Virgin Australia aircraft types, or aircraft types of similar complexity
Desired but not essential…..
- Come from either a maintenance or production planning role (desirable)
- Previous experience working in both line and heavy maintenance environments.
