Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) is one of the largest providers of Fly-In-Fly Out charter services in Western Australia and has considerable experience operating both Charter and Regular Public Transport (RPT) services to small and remote communities, allowing our guests to experience Virgin Australia’s award-winning product and services across the regional network.  As VARA continues to expand, we are investing in new aircraft to secure future growth!

What you’ll be doing…

As the Technical Writer Safety & Quality you will complete a comprehensive review of Engineering & Maintenance (P42 and P145) Exposition and Procedures, to incorporate content for new aircraft induction, translate practice into documented procedure, and structure content for simplicity and accessibility.

You will…

  • Develop familiarity with the document hierarchy and structure of the Engineering (P42) & Maintenance (P145) document suite
  • Demonstrate a high level understanding of CASR P42 and P145 regulations and areas of accountability
  • Take responsibility for Exposition and Internal Procedure amendments that relate to the role, working closely with key subject matter experts for technical content and context
  • Translate technical and procedural information into documented form
  • Review and update all Manuals, Forms, Tags and Labels as required for new aircraft induction and/or other associated business change
  • Coordinate the proof reading/checking of manual suites and ancillary documents.
  • Follow SOPs documented in work instructions and associated checklists

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Experience in editing technical engineering documentation
  • Demonstrated competency in dealing with key stakeholders
  • Experience in communicating effectively with all levels within an organization
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in prioritization and working toward deadlines
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe)
  • Advance knowledge of document control
  • A Graduate Certificate/ Diploma or equivalent

Desirable but not essential…

  • Knowledge of airline engineering regulations (CASR P42 or P 145)
  • Aviation experience in Engineering, Flight Operations or Airport Operations
