About Velocity

Velocity Frequent Flyer’s Financial Services portfolio is an important part of delivering value for our members and partners.

 

As Manager, Banking Strategy & Growth , you’ll shape the strategic direction of our Financial Services proposition, bringing together product strategy, partnerships, customer insight and commercial priorities to identify new opportunities and drive growth.

 

It’s a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, product and partnerships, with the opportunity to influence the future roadmap across the banking and financial services portfolio.

 

What you’ll do

You’ll play a key role in shaping and executing the strategic roadmap for Velocity’s Financial Services portfolio, creating differentiated, member-led propositions that support long-term growth.

 

  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps across banking and financial services product categories.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the Financial Services ecosystem through new products, partnerships, capabilities and member experiences.
  • Develop strategies that strengthen Velocity-linked propositions across deposits, home lending, personal lending, business banking and broader financial services.
  • Create frameworks and measures to better understand and optimise member lifetime value, supporting acquisition, engagement, cross-sell and retention.
  • Own the strategic management of key banking partnerships and develop joint, multi-year partnership roadmaps.
  • Create differentiated Velocity-linked value propositions that strengthen acquisition, product usage, retention and share of wallet.
  • Lead commercial negotiations across points economics, funding arrangements, acquisition incentives, marketing investment, performance commitments and governance.
  • Conduct market, competitor and partner analysis to identify emerging trends, proposition gaps and new growth opportunities.
  • Build business cases, scenario analysis and financial modelling to assess new products, customer segments and partnership opportunities.
  • Translate complex market intelligence and performance data into clear strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.

 

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a commercially minded strategist who can connect customer needs, market opportunity and partner priorities to create strong propositions and sustainable growth.

You’ll bring:

  • 7+ years’ experience across strategic transformation, product strategy, financial services innovation or a similar environment.
  • Experience in product development and strategic partnership management, ideally across mortgages, deposits or consumer lending.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical capability, with experience navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex banking, financial services or loyalty partnerships, including senior stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiations and governance.
  • Proven ability to develop customer-led propositions across a broad range of banking and financial services products.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn market, member and partner insights into clear growth strategies and product roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian banking and financial services landscape.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Finance or a related discipline.
    Experience in loyalty program transformation, financial services innovation or strategic product development within a complex partnership ecosystem would be highly regarded.
