What you’ll be doing…
As the Fleet Airworthiness Team Leader, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the continued airworthiness, safety, and compliance of the VARA fleet. You’ll lead the ongoing development and optimisation of the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP), manage aircraft and component data and configuration control, oversee airworthiness reviews, and lead and contribute to specialist projects.
You’ll lead a team of Airworthiness Officers, driving performance, capability, and continuous improvement across the function, and across Engineering and Maintenance.

- Lead and develop a team of Airworthiness Officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Ensure the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) remains compliant with CASA regulations and aligned with OEM and engineering updates
- Review and implement maintenance program changes (ADs, SBs, MPD revisions) within the CAMO Maintenance Information System (MIS)
- Plan, coordinate and oversee Airworthiness Reviews across the fleet, ensuring timely completion and resolution of findings
- Support aircraft inductions, including AMP development, bridging requirements, and initial airworthiness reviews
- Manage aircraft and component configuration control and support fleet-wide technical projects
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational frameworks
You’ll be great in this role if you have ….
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop technical teams
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, airworthiness, and regulatory frameworks with ability to apply for MPAE and/or ARE
- Proven experience working within a CAMO or similar environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders
- A high level of attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
Desirable…
- Experience with high-capacity aircraft maintenance
- Maintenance program development or optimisation experience
- Airworthiness Review experience
- Exposure to reliability or performance monitoring programs
- Advanced technical writing skills
