We’re the airline that dares to be different, bold, down-to-earth and built around giving our guests real choice. Safety is our backbone, service is our heartbeat, and our people are our superpower.
At Virgin Australia, we’re on a mission to be Australia’s most loved airline for our people, our guests and our owners and we’re looking for passionate talent to help take us even higher.
We’re vibrant, authentic and unapologetically human. Here, you can bring your whole self, your Virgin Flair and your ambition to a team that champions individuality, innovation and a whole lot of heart. If you’re excited by meaningful work, real opportunities to grow, and a culture where you can genuinely make a difference, you’ll feel right at home with us.
What you’ll be doing…
In our People team, we live and breathe what makes Virgin Australia special. We’re champions of authenticity, creating an environment where everyone can bring their true selves and their Virgin Flair to work. We lead with heart, but we back it with smart, disciplined execution.
You’ll take the lead across a broad learning and leadership portfolio, including:
- Turning our leadership capability roadmap and organisational development priorities into a practical, integrated delivery plan.
- Leading leadership and learning programs from scoping and design through to implementation, facilitation, evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Partnering with leaders, People partners and subject matter experts to identify capability gaps and create learning solutions that support real business outcomes.
- Designing, facilitating or sourcing engaging learning experiences across corporate and frontline audiences, using sound adult learning principles and fit-for-purpose delivery methods.
- Evolving leadership development initiatives, including targeted programs, coaching, mentoring and other development experiences.
- Maintaining enterprise governance over mandatory learning, including the mandatory training matrix, course requests, compliance trends and the escalation of material risks.
- Using data, learner feedback and business insight to evaluate what’s working, identify opportunities and improve the impact of our learning experiences.
- Working with internal stakeholders and external providers to deliver quality learning outcomes, while bringing sound judgement and commercial thinking to priorities and demand.
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Demonstrated experience in learning, organisational development, leadership development or a related people capability discipline within a complex organisation.
- Experience supporting or leading leadership development and broader capability programs across different employee or leader cohorts.
- Experience working with learning management systems and mandatory learning or compliance training governance.
- Effective facilitation, presentation and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage frontline teams, corporate audiences and senior leaders.
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the judgement to challenge demand, clarify accountabilities and escalate risk when needed.
- Strong delivery and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage programs, vendors, dependencies and competing deadlines.
- Data literacy and adaptability, with the ability to use learning and compliance data, learner feedback and business insight to identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
- A Certificate IV in Training and Development or equivalent learning, facilitation or organisational development qualification will be highly regarded.
