This position will ideally be based in Brisbane, however we are open to Sydney candidates.
About the role
As Head of Inventory Strategy, you’ll lead the development and execution of inventory management strategies across our domestic and international network. You’ll play a pivotal role in optimising revenue performance, retaining load factor, improving yield and delivering ambitious commercial and transformation outcomes.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders across Commercial, Network Planning, Sales, Digital and Finance, using data, market insight and commercial judgement to influence strategic decisions.
You’ll also lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Revenue Managers and Analysts, driving capability uplift, best-practice adoption and strong commercial outcomes.
You’ll be responsible for
- Leading daily inventory management across your assigned portfolio, aligned to Commercial and Revenue Management strategy.
- Developing and executing inventory strategies across domestic and international markets.
- Monitoring portfolio performance and optimising interventions, overbooking, spoilage and revenue uplift opportunities.
- Articulating inventory strategy and trading environment for effective senior decision-making.
- Driving greater integration between pricing, inventory and forecasting functions.
- Using market trends, competitor activity and economic indicators to inform strategic decisions.
- Improving the use of analytics and systems, including Sabre RO and DA, to enhance revenue performance.
- Driving the adoption and implementation of AI to drive Commercial outcomes
- Influencing executive decision-making through clear, compelling revenue insights and recommendations.
- Representing Revenue Management in cross-functional forums and strategic initiatives.
- Identifying and mitigating risks related to revenue performance and supporting business resilience.
- Leading talent development, succession planning, performance reviews and capability uplift across Inventory Management.
You’ll be great in this role if you
- Have significant experience in airline revenue management, pricing or commercial strategy.
- Have a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and identifying commercial value opportunities.
- Have led large, complex teams and developed high-performing people.
- Bring experience leading transformation or significant change initiatives.
- Have strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen and advanced analytical skills.
- Can translate complex insights into a clear narrative for senior decision-making.
- Are an exceptional stakeholder manager and communicator, confident influencing at executive level.
- Have strong knowledge of the Australian aviation market and best-practice revenue management, including inventory management and pricing.
- Understand revenue management operating models, processes, performance loops and system usage.
- Have a strong focus on data quality, interrogation and insight generation.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in economics, business or a related discipline.
- Have experience with Sabre products or revenue management systems, which would be highly regarded.
