What you’ll be doing:
Join Virgin Australia as a Business Development Consultant in Sydney and take your B2B sales career to new heights. In this phone-based role, you’ll manage a portfolio of 150+ potential business clients, converting leads, driving sign-ups, and generating revenue through our Business Flyer program. With a steady stream of inbound interest and existing customer opportunities, you’ll have everything you need to close deals and build lasting commercial relationships. You’ll also represent Virgin Australia at key industry events—expanding your network and elevating your sales impact.
In addition you will:
- Own and grow your portfolio by securing new sign-ups and boosting revenue from existing customers.
- Exceed sales targets through a strategic mix of outbound activity and lead conversion.
- Deliver tailored travel solutions that help our business clients succeed.
- Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat business and strong retention.
- Collaborate with a passionate sales team and contribute to the evolution of our SME sales strategy.
- Represent Virgin Australia at industry and networking events, connecting with decision-makers and influencers.
- Maintain detailed product knowledge to confidently guide customers through their options.
- Balance daily call and email volume while keeping your pipeline active and deals progressing.
This is a 12-month opportunity, based in our Sydney office. You’ll join a supportive, energetic team in one of Australia’s most iconic brands.
You’ll be great in this role if you have:
- Proven track record in B2B sales, business development or account management.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to spot and convert business opportunities.
- Confident in managing a high-volume pipeline and delivering consistent results.
- Skilled at building rapport, developing trust, and influencing decision-makers.
- Experience upselling, cross-selling, and handling objections to close deals.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with a passion for hitting targets.
- Excellent phone manner and professional communication skills across all channels.
