You will….

In this role you will directly support the organisations fatigue risk and safety management systems to ensure best practice, proactive and ongoing compliance. The position is responsible for providing support and expertise through the Safety Management Systems (SMS) to  operational areas of the business by assisting them in achieving safety objectives through developing and maintaining systems and processes related to managing Human Factors and Fatigue Risk. You’ll work with like-minded team members, department manager and stakeholders within safety and the operational divisions to strive for optimal human performance.

This is a part time role (20hrs per week)

  • Support the Manager, Human Performance and FRMS, seeking new and innovative ways to embed human factors solutions within our day to day working environment.
  • Engage with the Safety Audit and Investigation teams to support assurance activities under the  the SMS.
  • Data interpretation, and management of crew safety reporting as applicable to the FRMS.
  • Providing advice to stakeholders based on conclusions including possible risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance is maintained within the FRMS and HF sections of the SMS document site.

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Formal qualifications of equivalent experience in safety or aviation management.
  • Practical experience with human factors and fatigue risk management principles.
  • Proven ability to analyse data in many forms and provide reliable advice and recommendations based on this analysis. Objective story telling is key.
  • Experience or exposure in Business Intelligence tools.
  • Strong communication, report writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable but not essential

  • A high level of awareness of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority’s requirements for managing human factors risk, which includes fatigue.
  • Risk management experience.
  • Experience with safety/quality management tools (e.g., Intelex) and fatigue analysis software.
  • Experience working in the aviation industry, or high risk/reliability domains.
