What you’ll be doing:
Are you early in your sales career and ready to take the next step? Virgin Australia is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to join our Sydney team and help grow our Business Flyer program, supporting small and medium-sized businesses with their travel needs.
In this phone-based role, you’ll manage a portfolio of over 150 potential clients, focusing on building relationships, promoting program benefits, and helping businesses maximise the value of their travel. You’ll also have opportunities to attend industry events and expand your network.
This 12-month fixed-term role offers the chance to develop your skills in a supportive, high-performing commercial team - representing one of Australia’s most trusted and recognisable brands.
In addition you will:
- Connect with leads and existing clients to explain the value of the Business Flyer program
- Proactively engage with clients and close sales to drive revenue growth
- Consistently meet daily call targets to maintain strong client relationships
- Collaborate with your team to complete tasks within SLA timelines, supporting broader revenue and service goals
- Manage phone and email communication professionally to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Virgin Australia products to provide confident, informed support
You’ll be great in this role if you have:
- Experience in a sales role, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Ability to identify new business opportunities, convert leads, and grow an existing client base
- Confidence in making outbound calls and following up with clients
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-term relationships
- Proven experience in upselling and cross-selling products or services
- Clear and adaptable communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different client needs
- A positive attitude, proactive mindset, and willingness to learn and grow
