Senior Finance Analyst (Operations Transformation)

About the role:

As a Senior Finance Analyst (internally known as Finance Analyst - Operations Transformation), you will collaborate with a talented pool of experienced analysts to provide comprehensive strategic & financial support. Your role will involve ensuring the day-to-day smooth running of the Operations Transformation Finance team, focusing on integrated strategic, financial and operational analysis, business case development, benefits tracking, and overall transformation reporting.

You will build strong relationships with Operations, Transformation, Finance and Strategy to drive industry best practices in financial insights, benefits identification, and tracking, contributing to the success of our projects, including our three-year transformation program. 

This is not a 'processing' Finance role. We need someone with strong commercial acumen and a highly strategic mindset, to assist the business make sound financial decisions, though not necessarily from a pure financial background. We also need someone with a continuous improvement mindset, that can look for efficiency opportunities within projects and across Operations areas as a whole.

Further responsibilities: 

  • Build foundational data sets analysis and relationships with the analytical community across operations and the company, becoming the go-to specialist in specific systems and data sets
  • Operations long term target setting to size-the-prize of further transformation in each cost area including benchmarking to peers
  • Actively engage with Operations stakeholders to lead, drive and support efficiency improvements and business transformation
  • Benefits valuation of initiatives working directly with business units
  • Business case analytical support including data gathering and defining benefits metrics
  • Benefits tracking including monthly compilation of benefits metrics and delineation of BAU from transformation
  • Regular financial reporting of transformation progress
  • Other ad hoc analysis and support as required

You’ll be great in this role if you…

We welcome professionals from diverse backgrounds, including transformation programs, consulting, strategy and FP&A, coupled with deep analytical skills.

  • At least 2+ years experience in consulting, strategy, transformation programs or FP&A
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting, effective ongoing business relationships with diverse groups of people across the organisation 
  • Strong analytical, visualisation, and presentation skills. Advanced modelling skills (including profit-driver modelling) are highly regarded.
  • Transformation program governance, reporting and benefits modelling/tracking experience highly regarded
  • Experience leading complex projects with senior management highly regarded
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills highly regarded
  • Finance or strategic partnering and business case development experience highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a highly analytical profession
