Digital Tagging & Implementation Specialist

Who we’re looking for:

Someone who can provide technical expertise in tag management and coding best practices & implement complex digital analytics tracking solutions across Virgin Australia's direct sales channel & digital platforms. You will be responsible for ensuring implementation best practice are applied across our MarTech ecosystem and for providing accurate digital tracking to support richer online experiences for our customers.

The team:

The Direct Sales & Distribution team drive the commercial performance of the Direct channel. They look after Digital Analytics within the VA group, manage multiple digital technology platforms including the development of our Next Generation Retailing platforms, manage the airline's distribution capability, it's SEO and ancillary product strategy, and play a key role in improving customer conversion through the website via our enterprise Test & Learn programme.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing, implementing, and documenting customised analytics digital tagging & tracking solutions
  • Writing custom JavaScript & HTML code and governing 3rd party marketing tags within our Tag Management platform
  • Driving best practice principles for coding, implementation and data integration workflows across MarTech platforms.
  • Supporting the technical day to day operations of the Tealium tagging platform
  • Ensuring the foundation of digital data collected and passed into the analytics platform is robust and accurate.
  • Working across Adobe & Tealium MarTech platforms, ensuring they are operationally integrated between each other for enablement & activation.
  • Driving technical requirements and implementation needs to support marketing & optimisation initiatives.
  • Keeping up with industry standards and support the up-skilling and development for the centre of excellence around the MarTech industry.

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • Experience in digital tagging & implementation, working across client and/or agency side.
  • Technical experience in front-end development, and applying it to digital tagging, analytics tracking & experiment builds.
  • Experience implementing 3rd party media/marketing tags via Tag Managers (Experience in TealiumiQ is a bonus!)
  • Skills in coding and practical application of HTML, CSS, JavaScript code and responsive web principles.
  • An ability to design and create Data Layer requirements and specifications for implementation.
  • Skills in web analytics tools to support insights to customer behaviours.
  • A background working with optimisation platforms (eg. Adobe Target) within CRO programmes,
  • Exposure to retail/eCommerce environments.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe and Tealium Marketing Technology stack.
  • A strong understanding of the current MarTech landscape and associated tools, platforms and practices.
  • Knowledge of CMS and website management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of site debugging & tools that aid in front-end development.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Design Computing/Computer Science/Web Development/Digital Marketing.
