Purchasing Optimisation Lead

Who we’re looking for:

A procurement leader with a strong business acumen, the ability to deliver outcomes in a changing and dynamic environment and be seen as a trusted procurement advisor.  You are flexible, have an ability to influence and engage with senior leaders while building and supporting a successful team culture.  Our Procurement team needs self-motivated, driven and resilient people who have effective communication, strong interpersonal skills and effective problem solving skills.


What you’ll be doing:

The Purchasing Optimisation Lead is a key role within the Procurement Operations team responsible for identifying and driving optimisation of purchasing channels to deliver financial benefits and contractual control for the Group.

Additionally you will:

  • Provide guidance and advice to contract owners ensuring alignment on best buying channel with Oracle, governance and cost control
  • Be an expert in Oracle buying channels, categorisations and advice users and stakeholders on the optimum buying channels
  • Support and drive improvement in purchasing compliance, identifying opportunities to improve spend and reduce administration times for purchasing channels
  • Report and drive improvement in spend under contract and contract spend under BPA’s
  • Set KPI’s for the helpdesk team and  lead, support and mentor the team to success
  • Facilitate and overs the execution of supply arrangements, accuracy of contract renewals/extensions and loading of contracts into Oracle
  • Ensure VMF accuracy, support regulatory reporting, due diligence programs and automation of processes


What you need to be successful:

  • Prior team leadership experience
  • Be tertiary qualified in either Commerce, Economics or Business
  • Hold five plus years’ experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement
  • At least a years’ experience in a category management role
  • Proven Oracle Financial or other ERP systems experience
  • A solid understanding of commercial contracts, pricing structures and cost drivers
