What you will be doing

This pivotal role provides  support to the Airports Commercial team, specifically in the planning and development of infrastructure at airports and for Virgin Australia.

Working with the Airport Planning Manager, you will translate business requirements into infrastructure plans, by reviewing and analysing airport master plans and development proposals combined with capacity modelling to ensure proposed and existing infrastructure meets Virgin Australia’s objectives. Additionally, you will also

  • Assist in the development of high-level reports based on data insights and analysis, including capacity analysis of critical infrastructure
  • Review and assess airport development proposals. Assessing the need for investment having regard to current and forecast demand
  • Ensure the scope of investment is aligned to operational and product needs
  • Ensure the cost of proposed investment is appropriate having regard to scope
  • Assist in the review and analysis of proposed commercial terms for access to airport infrastructure
  • Build effective and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

 

To be a great fit for this role you will bring:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Science or similar
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience working in a similar Planning role within a large complex organisation or relevant experience in a professional services environment
  • Strong infrastructure planning and design skills
  • Effective time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated interrogating and analysis of large data set to generate insights, recommendations, and presentations
  • Advanced excel skills with a high level of PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Experience within the airline sector would be highly regarded
  • High level of attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills
