About Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA)
VARA operates out of Perth Airport and currently has a fleet of F100 and A320 aircraft with approximately 100 pilots. In the near future we will also be introducing a new fleet into our operation, which is the E190-E2 aircraft.
VARA predominantly conducts charter operations throughout regional Western Australia. VARA is on a growth path and has a strong focus on supporting our major clients in the mining industry - the future is exciting!
What you’ll be doing
The objective of the Leader, Line Operations & Safety Assurance is to provide a direct supervisory interface with the F100 and A320 Pilot group, together with facilitating the identification and management of risk within the Flight Operations department.
We're looking for an experienced people leader, who holds experience conducting investigations and/or safety audits. The successful candidate will possess strong IT capability and a well established knowledge of the Flight Operations Policies and Procedures within VARA. A sound knowledge of contemporary Human Resources principles is required to ensure our remote workforce of approx. 100 Pilots is effectively lead and supported.
This is a Perth based role reporting through to the Manager, Line Operations and will be a full time, maximum term contract for 12 months.
This will include but not be limited to…
- Day of operations oversight,
- Performance management and engagement of the F100 and A320 Pilot Group,
- Facilitation of the Flight Operations Safety Assurance functions,
- Delivery of Flight Operations Safety Education programs,
- Risk Management,
- Project oversight and delivery as required.
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- An ATP(A)L (or previously held),
- Lead Auditor Qualification,
- Underpinning knowledge of aviation-based regulations,
- An ability to drive business outcomes through data driven analysis.
Exposure to business resilience principles, strong project management skills and applicable tertiary qualifications are also highly regarded.
