Integration Architect

What you’ll be doing

The objective of the Integration Architect role is to set the direction for how technology systems should be integrated with each other and to ensure that proposed technology solutions are in alignment with the preferred direction and VA’s technology standards.

  • Support the production and maintenance of the 2-3 year integration strategy/roadmap 
  • Develop re-usable integration architecture patterns to ensure consistency in solution designs
  • Contribute to the Architecture Governance process, ensuring all proposed solutions are formally endorsed in line with the any integration architecture patterns and standards
  • Communicate and manage any risks associated with technology debt in relation to integration
  • Proactively identify opportunities to rationalise and improve any integration related technology assets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify necessary process or technology improvements to VA's integration platforms to effectively and efficiently support the needs of the organisation
  • Work closely with the Integration CoE team to help maintain appropriate internal controls, documentation, monitoring and alerting with respect to the ongoing configuration and updates of VA's integration platforms
  • Actively seek and maintain productive relationships with relevant business stakeholders to ensure internal and external customer centricity drives all decision-making 
  • Actively review customer and stakeholder feedback to ensure strategies and solutions continue to deliver required outcomes 
  • Peer-review solution designs of other team members, providing constructive feedback and coaching where appropriate

You'll be great in this role if you...

  • Bachelors or Masters’ qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent background)
  • Extensive breadth of technical knowledge gained through experience across multiple architecture domains, particularly from an integration perspective
  • 5+ years of experience of integration architecture best practices, patterns/styles and integration technologies
  • Extensive experience within project delivery teams that have successfully delivered major business solutions using a variety of delivery methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
  • Experience of leading others through technology change and the adoption of new ways of working
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and oral
  • Innovative mindset, capable of considering alternative options and the development of creative solutions
  • Ability to direct and influence others for area of expertise
