The Workforce Planning team are responsible for the short to long-term planning for Flight, Cabin and Ground Crew across our network. We are a fun and dedicated team responsible for delivering compliant and efficient rosters that align to business objectives.

The Role:

As a Crew Planning Analyst your role will be to provide reliable and comprehensive analytics and insights that will support operational strategies. This role partners with various operational stakeholder groups across the Virgin Australia business to influence strategic workforce planning and labour optimisation.

Some of the exciting challenges in this role are; production and management of resource plans and workforce planning, modelling, productivity targets, training requirements, annual leave management, cost and budgetary control, regulatory and industrial compliance, and fatigue management in a constantly changing environment.

As a Crew Planning Analyst, you'll work closely with your team of analysts, support a wide range of stakeholders and be responsible for:

  • Develop and manage crew resource plans and forecasting models
  • Provide actionable insights to support recruitment, rostering, and training
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industrial requirements
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify optimisation opportunities
  • Deliver continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements
  • Drive customer-centric outcomes through strategic planning support

What you need to be successful:

  • Experience in workforce forecasting and planning
  • Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and stakeholder engagement experience

Desirable:

  • Power BI or data visualisation experience
  • Experience in airline operations or related industries
  • Understanding of crew/resource planning systems and processes
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
