What you’ll be doing:
As the Operations Support Manager – Ramp, you’ll play a key role in driving the performance of our domestic and international ramp operations. Working closely with the Airport Manager and Ramp Duty Leaders, you’ll lead initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, and customer experience across the board.
You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to uphold the highest operational standards while supporting Virgin Australia’s transformation strategy. Together with the Airport Operations Support Manager – Customer, you’ll champion a unified “one team” approach across both above and below wing operations.
A core part of your role will be owning and developing the Relief Ramp Duty Leader program, ensuring a strong succession pipeline and empowering future leaders within the ramp team.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- Have a valid driver’s licence
- Can get the clearances you need (ASIC and ADA Level 2/3)
- Know your way around airport operations
- Are great at connecting with leaders and getting them on board
- Can read the room and respond in a way that brings out the best in people
- Love leading big, diverse teams and making a real impact on the customer experience
- Build strong relationships and know how to keep stakeholders engaged
- Have a qualification in aviation or something similar (bonus points)
- Have ramp experience with an airline (even better)
- Understand how business works and make smart decisions (nice to have)
- Know how to get projects over the line and manage change smoothly (also nice to have)
