What you will be doing…

As our Senior Manager Operations Delivery, you will lead the operational heartbeat of VARA. Reporting to the Head of Cabin Crew & Customer Operations, you will oversee the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and Regional Charter ports, providing leadership to your direct reports to deliver 24/7 operational excellence, resilience, and a strong customer focus.

This is a role for an aviation savvy leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, guiding a high-performance team, and driving meaningful change that enhances safety, performance, and the customer journey.

You will…

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations across the VARA network being at the centre of coordinating crews, schedules, charter operations, airport services and more.
  • Drive on-time performance (OTP), operational resilience, and cost efficiency through collaboration with OCC, Network Planning, Charter Operations and internal/external partners
  • Manage critical services including ground handling, catering, cleaning, and freight/cargo
  • Prepare and present operational performance reports and lead proactive disruption management
  • Model and enforce a culture where safety always comes first
  • Analyse schedule performance data, operational trends and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Drive initiatives that enhance efficiency, service quality and departmental effectiveness
  • Manage key portfolios and improvement projects across the operation
  • Coach and mentor your leaders while promoting fairness, inclusivity, open communication and strong collaboration

What you need to be successful:

  • 5+years’ leadership experience in a fast-paced environment within operations or OCC environments
  • Airline or aviation industry experience would be highly regarded but not mandatory
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence across functions
  • Proven capability in managing complex operations, budgets, and competing priorities
  • Advanced problem solving, analytical thinking and communication skills
  • Experience driving change and embedding new ways of working across large, multi discipline teams
  • Deep understanding of risk management, service delivery and customer experience principles
