Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
What you’ll be doing
As an Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist you will play a pivotal role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our people. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact by helping team members return to work after long-term illness or injury (non-work related), ensuring they can thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
In this role, you will:
- Manage complex return-to-work cases, including milestone meetings, case conferences, and clinician liaison
- Develop and implement graded return-to-work plans and alternate duties registers
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver person-centric, evidence based rehabilitation solutions
- Coordinate and manage our Early Intervention Program, enabling prompt access to treatment and support before formal claims arise
- Partner with leaders and managers to optimise return-to-work strategies and develop tailored plans for individual team members
- Contribute to governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance health and wellbeing outcomes across the organisation
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Allied Health discipline (E.g. Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Counselling)
- Certified completion of a Return-to-Work Coordinator course
- 3+ years’ experience in occupational rehabilitation and return-to-work coordination
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and develop tailored rehabilitation plans
- Strong communication, listening, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in aviation or safety-critical industries would be desirable but not essential
We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including (but not limited to):
- Discounted flights for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of travel credits per year)
- A hybrid work style with opportunities to work from the office and from home, suiting your lifestyle needs
- One of Brisbane’s most admired head office locations, with South Bank train station, a supermarket, pharmacy, and lunch options downstairs plus a 5-minute walk to the Busway, a rooftop restaurant and onsite gym (with a low membership fee) and South Bank Parklands just across the road
- Discounts on travel insurance, lounge membership, car hire, accommodation, and experiences worldwide
- Cheaper hospitality, retail, technology, beauty and wellness services
- Free counselling and access to a wellbeing app to support your physical, mental, social and financial health
- ‘Dress for Your Day’ – enjoy the freedom to wear whatever makes you feel great for the type of work you do and the day you have ahead of you.
