Finance Systems Lead

Head Office – Brisbane

Hello. We’re Virgin Australia.
We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way.

We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.

What you’ll be doing

As our Finance Systems Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our financial planning technology by developing, enhancing, and owning our OneStream (OST) EPM platform.

You’ll work closely with our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to understand business needs and translate them into practical, efficient system solutions. You’ll lead the continuous development of the OST roadmap, assess and adopt new functionality as it’s released, and make sure the system keeps pace with the evolving needs of the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive proactive development of the OneStream roadmap and maximise system capability.
  • Translate FP&A and business requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Maintain and enhance OST functionality to support reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Provide expert system support, troubleshooting, and ensure system stability and integrity.
  • Oversee governance, security, user access, documentation, and system upgrades.
  • Deliver training and support to users to uplift adoption and system efficiency.
  • Stay across OneStream product developments and advocate for functionality that supports our strategic goals.
  • Support ongoing continuous improvement across FP&A operations by leveraging full system capabilities.

This role is key to enabling accurate, timely, and insightful performance reporting and planning across the entire Virgin Australia Group.

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

Essential skills & experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience designing, building, implementing and supporting OneStream solutions.
  • Strong capability in OneStream development (business rules, workflows, dashboards, data integration, reporting).
  • A track record of enhancing and expanding system functionality beyond maintenance.
  • Experience partnering with finance stakeholders to understand business processes and translate needs into system solutions.
  • Proven experience with end-to-end project delivery.‑to‑end project delivery.

  • Experience in aviation, transport, or a similarly complex industry.
  • Broader technical skills including Power BI, Power Query, automation tools or SQL.
  • Experience with EPM transformations or migrations from legacy platforms.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL concepts.

We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry – including:

  • Discounted flights for you and your loved ones (including $1000 worth of annual travel credits).
  • A flexible hybrid work style – work from home or our vibrant South Bank HQ.
