What you’ll be doing
As Manager, Technical Solutions, you'll play a pivotal leadership role within our Technology Division, helping shape the future of how Virgin Australia delivers technology.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (Commercial Domain), you'll lead a team of technical specialists and partner closely with Product and Delivery leaders to deliver business outcomes through modern technology solutions.
This is a highly influential role where you'll be accountable for "building the solution right" while enabling opportunities through technology. You'll provide strategic technical leadership, guide architectural direction and help drive Virgin Australia's continued transformation to a product and platform operating model. You will own all technology solutions across our Commercial domain.
In this role, you will:
- Define and execute technology strategy and roadmaps aligned to business priorities and customer outcomes
- Provide technical leadership across a portfolio of products, platforms and business capabilities
- Drive architectural excellence, technical health and engineering quality across your domain
- Lead technology solution decisions, balancing business value, technical sustainability and risk
- Partner with Product and Delivery leaders to collectively own outcomes, priorities and decision-making
- Champion platform thinking, reusable solutions and modern engineering practices
- Lead legacy modernisation initiatives and proactively manage technical debt
- Build, coach and develop high-performing technical team, creating strong technical capability and career pathways
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Engineering Enablement and Platform teams to ensure alignment to enterprise standards
- Influence senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning, governance and investment discussions

You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Significant experience leading technology teams within complex, enterprise environments
- A track record of defining technical strategy and delivering technology outcomes aligned to business objectives
- Experience leading teams through technology, operating model or organisational transformation
- Strong technical architecture and platform design expertise
- Experience with modern cloud platforms, engineering practices and product-based delivery models
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders and executives
- Strong people leadership capability, with experience developing technical talent and building high-performing teams
- Experience balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term technical sustainability
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to evaluate technology investment decisions
- You have experience working within aviation, customer-facing organisations, or technology environments where commercial outcomes and customer value are key drivers of decision-making
- Experience leading large-scale integrations and enterprise transformation programs
