At Virgin Australia, we're building Australia's most loved airline.

As we continue to strengthen our position in the market, we are seeking an exceptional commercial leader to shape the next phase of our corporate growth strategy.

This is one of the most influential growth leadership roles within Virgin Australia, responsible for defining and executing the strategy that drives corporate market share, strategic partnerships and long-term revenue growth across Australia's largest organisations.

Reporting to the General Manager Sales, you will lead Virgin Australia's enterprise acquisition strategy, overseeing a portfolio of major corporate customers, travel management companies, government accounts and strategic partners representing significant annual revenue.

This role requires a rare combination of strategic vision, commercial rigour, executive influence and negotiation expertise. You will operate at the intersection of sales, revenue management, network planning, loyalty, distribution and customer strategy, shaping commercial outcomes that directly influence Virgin Australia's competitive position.

You will be a trusted advisor to senior executives both internally and externally, leading complex commercial negotiations, influencing multi-million-dollar investment decisions and identifying new growth opportunities that deliver sustainable shareholder value.

What you’ll be doing:

As Head of Corporate Business Development, you will own Virgin Australia's enterprise growth agenda, leading the acquisition and development of strategic customer relationships that drive market share growth and long-term commercial performance.

You will be responsible for identifying emerging opportunities, shaping go-to-market strategy, influencing commercial investment decisions and securing complex partnership agreements that strengthen Virgin Australia's position in the corporate travel market.

Success in this role will require the ability to navigate highly complex stakeholder environments, balance competing commercial priorities and translate market insights into actionable growth strategies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Define and execute Virgin Australia's long-term corporate growth strategy, ensuring alignment with broader Commercial and Group objectives.
  • Influence enterprise-wide commercial decisions through deep understanding of customer economics, competitive dynamics and market trends.
  • Lead negotiations involving complex commercial constructs, strategic partnerships and multi-year agreements with Australia's largest organisations.
  • Act as the executive sponsor for key strategic relationships, building trusted partnerships with C-suite stakeholders across corporate customers, travel management companies and government.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging growth opportunities, business models and market segments that support Virgin Australia's future growth ambitions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across Virgin Australia Group functions to optimise commercial outcomes.

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise sales, business development, strategic partnerships or commercial functions within a complex, highly competitive environment.
  • A proven track record securing and growing large-scale commercial partnerships and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive and board-level stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Strong understanding of commercial strategy, customer economics and market development.
  • Experience operating within matrix organisations where success depends on influence, collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking capability, with the ability to convert market insights into measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams through periods of growth, transformation and change.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
