We’re the airline that dares to be different bold, down-to-earth and built around giving our guests real choice. Safety is our backbone, service is our heartbeat, and our people are our superpower.

At Virgin Australia, we’re on a mission to be Australia’s most loved airline, for our people, our guests and our owners and we’re looking for passionate talent to help take us even higher.

We’re vibrant, authentic and unapologetically human. Here, you can bring your whole self, your Virgin Flair and your ambition to a team that champions individuality, innovation and a whole lot of heart. If you’re excited by meaningful work, real opportunities to grow, and a culture where you can genuinely make a difference, you’ll feel right at home with us.

What you’ll be doing

As a Flight Analyst, you’ll play a key role in maximising revenue performance by making smart, data-led decisions on flight availability across your portfolio.

This is a hands-on commercial analytics role where you’ll review booking data, daily intake reports, competitor activity and forecast performance to understand what’s happening across the network then turn those insights into action. You’ll use tools including Power BI and Excel to monitor trends, identify opportunities and support daily decision-making that helps optimise revenue outcomes.

Working closely with Demand Analysts, Revenue Managers and Pricing teams, you’ll help ensure we have the right availability settings in place, at the right time, to respond to booking patterns, market conditions and competitor behaviour.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing daily intake reports, booking patterns and flight performance data to inform commercial decisions
  • Actively managing flight-level availability within the focused activity window to drive revenue maximisation
  • Using Power BI, Excel and revenue management systems to analyse trends, monitor performance and identify opportunities
  • Supporting forecast accuracy by reviewing demand trends, market changes and post-departure performance
  • Monitoring competitor pricing and market activity, and implementing tactical responses aligned to Virgin Australia’s positioning
  • Setting up, maintaining and monitoring alerts in Sabre RO, analysing situations and implementing availability adjustments
  • Reviewing and managing Sabre DA recommendations, assessing effectiveness and suggesting improvements
  • Actively managing flight-level overbooking parameters to capture revenue upside
  • Conducting regular post-departure analysis to understand performance drivers and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting event set-ups outside system range to ensure optimal availability
  • Identifying opportunities to improve revenue management processes, reporting and system usage
  • Working closely with Demand Analysts, Revenue Managers and Pricing teams to deliver revenue-maximising outcomes
  • Supporting achievement of RASK and revenue targets for markets within your responsibility

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Experience in an analytical, commercial, revenue management, aviation, pricing, forecasting or performance-focused role
  • Strong commercial curiosity and the confidence to make data-led decisions
  • Advanced Excel capability and experience using Power BI or similar reporting/visualisation tools
  • The ability to review data, identify trends and translate insights into clear recommendations
  • A strong understanding of forecasting, demand trends, competitor analysis or revenue optimisation
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to balance commercial judgement with structured analysis
  • Confidence working independently, while collaborating closely with stakeholders across Revenue Management and Pricing
  • Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation, Statistics, Economics or a related field would be highly regarded

We’re committed to looking after you, with some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry  including:
