What you will be doing:

As a Fleet Powerplant Engineer, you will be accountable for ensuring optimal performance and continuing airworthiness across our fleet. Leveraging substantial experience within an airline Technical Services environment or a maintenance/overhaul organisation, you will apply deep technical expertise in aircraft systems to deliver reliable, data-driven outcomes.

In this role, you will take ownership of the configuration management of all Powerplant systems across the Boeing 737-700/800 and 737 MAX fleet. You will also bring a strong commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of how effective configuration control influences cost, reliability, and operational performance.

You will be at the heart of maintaining continuing worthiness across our fleet’s Powerplant and APU systems and responsible for:

  • Service Document assessment in accordance with Virgin Australia Engineering Modification Policy
  • Investigate Powerplant reportable defects for the fleet
  • Respond to engineering issues raised in Engineering Support Requests [TSR]
  • Complete technical assessment and action fleet configuration control requests
  • Perform engine and APU Diagnostics
  • Complete configuration control
  • Assist with day-to-day operation
  • Perform APU and engine shop visit management

You'll be great in this role if you:

  • Relevant work experience in an Airline Technical Services role
  • Engineering degree would be beneficial with configuration control program and powerplant experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • TRAX experience
