Configuration Web Systems Analyst

- Brisbane, QLD, Australia
- Full-Time (Permanent)
Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
As a Configuration Web Systems Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing Virgin Australia’s digital customer experience by managing the configuration of our web platforms and rules-based systems. Working within an agile product squad, you'll collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers and external technology partners to deliver scalable configuration solutions that help power our digital storefronts and improve the experience for millions of guests.
This position is based in our Head Office in Brisbane.
What you’ll be doing…
• Managing front-end and back-end configuration changes across Virgin Australia’s web platforms and digital storefronts.
• Working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers and external vendors to understand requirements and translate them into effective configuration-based solutions.
• Configuring and maintaining complex business rules and rules-engine functionality to support digital product enhancements and customer journeys.
• Supporting the delivery of new features, platform improvements and optimisation initiatives through configuration rather than software development.
• Testing configuration changes across desktop, mobile and browser environments to ensure a seamless and reliable customer experience.
• Assisting with solution design, troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to identify the most effective configuration outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate technical documentation, release information and configuration records within agile delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Collaborating closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate configuration updates, releases and ongoing platform improvements.
You’ll be great in this role if you have….
• Experience working with web applications, digital platforms or eCommerce environments, with exposure to front-end and back-end system configuration.
• Experience managing configurations, business rules or rules-engine platforms within a corporate or enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret requirements and deliver practical configuration-based solutions.
• Experience working in agile delivery teams and using tools such as Jira, Confluence and Git-based repositories.
• Exposure to modern web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript or React, with the ability to work confidently alongside developers (coding experience is not required).
• Experience testing web applications across browsers, devices and responsive experiences.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, product teams and external vendors.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within aviation, travel, loyalty or other customer-centric digital businesses will be highly regarded.
