We’re the airline that dares to be different, bold, down-to-earth and built around giving our guests real choice. Safety is our backbone, service is our heartbeat and our people are our superpower.

At Virgin Australia, we’re on a mission to be Australia’s most loved airline. Here, you can bring your whole self, your Virgin Flair and your ambition to a team that champions individuality, innovation and heart.

Based in the Virgin Australia Brisbane Head Office, we’re looking for an Airport & Lounge Product Experience Lead to shape, develop and deliver the physical products and experiences that define the Virgin Australia airport journey — from arrival and check-in through to our lounges, boarding and arrival at destination.

This is a hands-on product development role focused on identifying opportunities, designing new products and experiences, building partnerships and taking concepts from idea through to implementation. You’ll work closely with airport operations, frontline teams, commercial teams, suppliers and external partners to create products and experiences that are desirable for our guests, commercially viable and operationally practical.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Head of Product Development and Delivery, you’ll help shape and deliver Virgin Australia’s airport and lounge product strategy.

You’ll own the end-to-end development of priority products and experiences across our airport and lounge portfolio, balancing guest needs, commercial opportunity, operational feasibility and safety.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Identifying opportunities for new and improved physical airport and lounge products, services and experiences based on guest needs, customer insights, market trends and operational opportunities.
  • Leading the end-to-end product lifecycle from opportunity identification, research and concept development through to business case, design, partner selection, implementation, launch and optimisation.
  • Developing product concepts and experiences that improve the guest journey while being practical for frontline and operational teams to deliver.
  • Building and managing strong relationships with external partners, suppliers, airport stakeholders and internal teams to bring new products and experiences to life.
  • Developing business cases, commercial recommendations and investment proposals for new products and enhancements.
  • Working closely with design, commercial, operational and frontline teams to test and refine concepts before launch.
  • Leading cross-functional initiatives from early concept through to delivery, ensuring products are implemented effectively across the network.
  • Supporting frontline teams through product implementation, including clear communication, operational readiness and adoption.
  • Monitoring product performance through customer feedback, operational data and commercial measures, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Preparing insights, recommendations and updates for senior stakeholders.

You’ll be great in this role if you have

  • Demonstrated experience in product development and delivery, ideally within aviation, airports, travel, hospitality or another complex physical service environment.
  • Experience taking physical products, services or experiences from concept through to design, commercialisation and implementation.
  • Strong experience managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, with a practical understanding of what it takes to bring products to market.
  • Experience working with external partners, suppliers and commercial stakeholders to develop and deliver products and experiences.
  • A strong understanding of how to translate customer, market and operational insights into tangible products and experiences.
  • Strong commercial and business case capability, including the ability to assess investment, feasibility, customer value and return.
  • Experience working in complex, cost-sensitive and operationally demanding environments where products need to work in the real world.
  • A practical understanding of frontline operations and the ability to design products that are both compelling for guests and workable for the teams delivering them.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, planning, analytical and delivery skills.
  • The ability to balance customer, commercial, operational and safety priorities to make sound product decisions.

Experience across aviation, airports, passenger services, lounges, airport retail, premium hospitality, travel products or physical service development will be highly regarded.

Knowledge of passenger flow, airport partners, disruption management, service recovery, lounge operations or multi-site product implementation would also be valuable.
