What you’ll be doing:
As the Airline Loyalty Performance Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance across the Airline Loyalty portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, Airline Loyalty, this role is key to shaping strategy and enabling data-led decision-making that delivers meaningful business outcomes.
In this position you will lead budgeting and forecasting, while providing actionable insights to support leadership decisions, and collaborate with specialists across the team to deliver key projects and performance initiatives. In addition, you will develop tools and frameworks, to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and translate data into strategic recommendations that align with the broader goals of the Airline Group.
Your role will further involve:
- Champion a data-led culture, using analytics and insights to guide decision-making and unlock performance opportunities across the Airline Loyalty portfolio.
- Interrogate and analyse data to identify trends, gaps, and commercial drivers using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other analytical platforms.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for Virgin Australia’s points earn in collaboration with Velocity Finance, ensuring accuracy and transparency across financial cycles.
- Provide forward-looking performance insights, bringing together metrics and analysis from multiple data sources to inform strategic planning and leadership decisions.
- Partner with Velocity and Virgin Australia Data teams to enhance airline loyalty analytics and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of data enhancements, ensuring initiatives align with the airline loyalty strategy and deliver value to key stakeholders.
- Support key projects and initiatives within the Airline Loyalty team, tracking and measuring performance to drive continuous improvement and optimise outcomes.
You’ll be great for the role if you:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Aviation, or a related analytical field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, commercial performance, or financial forecasting, ideally within the aviation, travel, or loyalty industries.
- Strong ability to interrogate and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills, with confidence in building tools, models, and dashboards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate insights through clear, compelling narratives.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
- A curious and strategic mindset, comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- A collaborative and innovative mindset, someone who thrives on solving problems, testing new ideas, and driving results.
