Airport Operations Support Manager, Ramp

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Airport Manager, The Airport Operations Support Manager – Ramp (Sydney), will work collaboratively with the Airport Manager and Ramp Duty Leaders to optimise the performance of the domestic and international operations.

You will engage with key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the highest standards of safety and performance, deliver all aspects of the customer value proposition, and continue to execute Virgin Australia’s ongoing transformation strategy to ensure continuous improvements across the Ramp operations.

Working with the Airport Operations Support Manager - Customer on all aspects of the above and below wing airport operation ensuring a “one team” approach. You will own the end-to-end relief Ramp Duty Leader program to develop an effective succession plan for our leaders.

You’ll be great in this role if you…

  • Support the Airport Operations Support Manager, Customer in all aspects of emergency response, including practice, planning, and readiness activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Ramp Duty Leaders to identify hazards, and near misses and continuously improve safety reporting.
  • Proactively liaise with other operational areas within and third-party suppliers to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Work jointly with the Airport Operations Support Manager, Customer on all aspects of airport operations and “one team” alignment.
  • Point of escalation for triage of non-compliance to SOPs and serious incidents including (aircraft damage events) and support as needed and take immediate corrective action.
  • Manage business processes and systems across a complex and dynamic operation to streamline work practices for ramp operations.

Key requirements:

  • Valid State Drivers Licence.
  • Ability to hold ASIC.
  • Ability to hold ADA Level 2/3
  • Operational experience in aviation
  • Ability to drive positive customer outcomes through a large diverse workforce.
