Manager, Aircraft Maintenance

What you’ll be doing:

As the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance for the Western region, you will be at the forefront of managing all aspects of Aircraft Maintenance, including Line Maintenance, as well as ensuring Stores performance objectives are met for your region.

In this leadership role, you’ll guide, manage, and mentor the Aircraft Maintenance Team to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards in line with Virgin Tech’s and Virgin Australia’s regulatory requirements, all while delivering excellent customer service and achieving financial targets that align with the company’s corporate goals.

Based in Perth, you’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Aircraft Maintenance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of skilled Aircraft Maintenance professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date with all relevant regulatory bodies involved in the certification of aircraft and parts.
  • Foster strategic relationships with industry partners that align with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure all team members comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and approved maintenance data.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage resources and facilities efficiently.
  • Act as a liaison with CASA, VA Regulatory Services, and VA Airline Publications.
  • Fulfill CASA Part 145 Responsible Manager duties for your region.

You’ll b great in this role if you have…

  • Formal qualifications in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Cert IV or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of CASA airworthiness requirements.
  • Proven experience in airworthiness and engineering operations within the aviation industry.
  • A strong track record of leading, coaching, and mentoring teams.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • A Level 2 APAM driver’s license.
