What you’ll be doing:

The role of the Strategy & Planning Associate is to support Strategy team in providing strategic insights and recommendations that drive the Company’s success. The Strategy team is responsible for developing comprehensive strategy, as well as tailored strategies for each business unit or area. This includes leading strategic projects and initiatives to propel the Company forward, overseeing the transformation portfolio and adjusting it to align with overarching strategy and transformation targets. Furthermore, the Strategy prepares executive-level recommendations and materials on strategic topics.

Within this role the person will work with and transformation team and will be responsible for:

  • Developing and refining strategic initiatives and work plans
  • Delivering proactive, accurate, and timely analysis of strategic data to identify opportunities and trends
  • Leading business modelling for specific projects as required
  • Preparing executive-level presentations and strategic recommendations
  • Overseeing the transformation portfolio and ensuring its alignment with overall strategy and targets

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • Strong commercial acumen and analysis skillset; the ability to analyse complex data sets, derive key insights and diagnose business issues
  • Previous experience in strategy/management consulting or similar functions in industry
  • Advanced financial and business case modelling skills; the ability to source reference data, create assumptions, identify commercial options and present recommendations with clear strategic rationale
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Competitor analysis & benchmarking skills; the ability to evaluate, interpret and communicate macro-economic industry trends and market intelligence to help Velocity understand external risks and potential opportunities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to craft messages for a range of audiences including finance teams, business stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Collaborative attitude and demonstrated stakeholder management experience
  • Commitment to change and continuous improvement
  • Prior experience in customer loyalty programs, particularly within the airline or travel industry, is advantageous
  • Innovative, collaborative and responsive style
