The objective of the People Experience, Travel Advisor role is to manage all work related travel for the business (employees and contractors) including but not limited to: flights, accommodation and transport, while also remaining responsible for all Virgin Australia VIP travel. The team also provide exceptional service to manage the leisure benefits under the staff travel program including flights and people benefits and also the management of the Service Award program for Virgin Australia. 

You will be confident in your abilities to manage travel requests across multiple systems including the travel management and GDS (Sabre) systems. Your extensive industry knowledge will assist in making influential travel decisions about timings, routes and auxiliary requirements. Your people skills will ensure you deliver a high level of customer service and build great relationships across the wider business. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and negotiate flights, hotel accommodation, car hire and conferencing requests with external suppliers.
  • Demonstrate exceptional, personalised, end-to-end customer service and forge strong relationships with employees, management team, interline airline partners and external suppliers
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Virgin Australia’s travel policies, systems, interline partner agreements and suite of staff leisure benefits to ensure accurate management of travel requests and provision of learned advice.
  • Maintain good working knowledge and relationships with external suppliers. 
  • Participate in relationship building activities with common stakeholders and suppliers (Face to name meetings, supplier inspections)
  •  Support employees at all stages of their Virgin Australia experience from explaining employee benefits at orientation to assisting with their travel for business and leisure and booking travel benefits received for service, reward or at the end of their Virgin journey

 

Who we’re looking for:

You are a confident negotiator, who can make quick and efficient decisions, and thrives working in a face-paced environment. You are a people person and your people skills will ensure you build great relationships across the wider business and ensures a high level of customer service. Your extensive industry knowledge will assist in making influential travel decisions about timings, routes and auxiliary requirements. Due to your positive can do attitude and willingness to rise to a challenge you will make a valuable addition to the team. 

The ideal candidate:

  • Good knowledge of GDS systems - Sabre is essential
  • Sound knowledge of the travel industry requirements including visa requirements, booking processes and other key information
  • Excellent attention to detail and meticulous accuracy 
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Solid time management
  • Understanding of ifly and staff travel will be beneficial 
  • Confident decision maker
