What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll be the go to support for our Manager, Insurance, helping keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll make sure insurance services for the Virgin Australia Group are delivered on time and with precision. From managing processes to solving challenges, you’ll play a big part in protecting our business and making a real impact every day.
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- Bring 2–3 years of experience in General Insurance, ideally within an underwriting or broking role
- Have strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and review diverse operational areas for potential risk
- Can spot trends, provide clear advice, and recommend actions to mitigate risk
- Build and maintain great relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Are confident using systems and have solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Pay close attention to detail and thrive when working to tight deadlines
Bonus points if you…
- Have Tier 1/Tier 2 compliance or claims management experience
- Understand the General Insurance or Aviation Insurance markets
- Have worked with aviation operations or regulations (e.g., CASA, CACL, IATA, Montreal Convention)
- Bring advanced Excel skills, Power BI experience, or exposure to Oracle
- Know your way around commercial contract reviews and negotiations from an insurance or risk perspective.
