What you’ll be doing:
As the Senior Partnerships Specialist, you’ll step into a highly influential role driving the growth of new partners within the Virgin Australia Business Flyer program. Based in Sydney, this role offers the opportunity to shape strategy, lead high-value commercial initiatives, and partner directly with some of Australia’s most recognisable brands.
You’ll own a significant portfolio and be accountable for delivering commercial outcomes setting partnership direction, leading innovation, running end-to-end campaigns, and negotiating contracts that unlock meaningful value for Virgin Australia and our partners.
In addition, you will:
- Lead the commercial performance and strategic growth of key Virgin Australia Business Flyer partners through sharp planning, insight-driven marketing, and disciplined execution.
- Develop and implement tailored partnership strategies across product, pricing, incentives, data insights, and campaign activity to deliver measurable revenue and member engagement outcomes.
- Work closely with Marketing and enabling teams to drive and deliver impactful campaigns for partners, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maximising value for both Virgin Australia and its Business Flyer partners.
- Build and influence strong, senior-level relationships with partners and internal stakeholders, acting as the trusted commercial lead across multiple business areas. Identify, evaluate, and secure new partnership opportunities, leading negotiations that deliver high-value, commercially robust outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, Operations, Legal, and Data Analytics teams to deliver seamless partner experiences and strong commercial performance.
- Analyse partnership results and commercial trends, managing budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting to ensure sustained growth and long-term value creation.
You’ll be great for the role if you:
- Bring 5+ years of experience in commercial partnerships, loyalty, or a related consumer/B2B environment such as financial services, telco, utilities, travel, or insurance.
- Have a strong understanding of loyalty and the broader partnership ecosystem, including value drivers, member behaviours, and commercial levers.
- Demonstrate experience leading complex, high-stakes projects from strategy and planning through to delivery and commercial evaluation.
- Excel at senior stakeholder management and negotiation, with the ability to influence decisions and build trusted relationships with executive-level partners.
- Possess strong commercial acumen and analytical capability comfortable interpreting data, developing business cases, and identifying new revenue opportunities.
- Have a proven track record in negotiation and contract management, consistently delivering mutually beneficial commercial outcomes.
- Bring a collaborative, innovative, and outcome-driven mindset someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys shaping commercial strategy.
