What you’ll be doing:
The objective of the Quality Conformance Specialist role is to undertake ongoing oversight as per the VA Quality Management System for Aircraft Maintenance & the Maintenance Training Organisation (CASR AMO Part 145/147 ) for overall conformance to regulatory, customer and internal standards.
A major component of the role is dealing with safety, security and business resilience. You will be required to complete mandatory training applicable to the role and participate in the SMS and SeMS by identifying and reporting hazards to the operation.
Another important aspect of this role is compliance with relevant regulations. You will be responsible for overseeing the Audit Finding and Corrective/Preventative Action process via Intelex, as well ensuring internal and external audits are conducted and actioned on time in accordance with the relevant work instructions. You will also be participating in a program which independently audits the conformance with Part 145 & Part 147 of the CASR 1998, associated Manual of Standards and Expositions, along with supporting of audits from cross functional teams either within Engineering Operations, across other divisions and regulatory bodies as applicable.
You will be required to ensure the Quality Manager is briefed on issues that require immediate attention or escalation in both a regulatory, safety or business sense, as well as promptly and regularly reporting all compliance related matters. This role also requires participation in the preparation of MSRRC, ESSRC and BSRRC reports as well as the Annual Audit Program Review with Virgin Tech Leadership.
Who we’re looking for:
- Hold or have held an accreditation as an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Lead Auditor
- Qualification in an Aviation Maintenance related discipline
- Track record in Operational auditing in a RPT aviation environment
- Strong practical experience and expertise in the applications of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
- Strong self-motivation and direction to be able to work without direct supervision
- Effective leadership skills to lead and manage teams
- A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- A working knowledge and experience with the TRAX and Intelex is beneficial
- Able to work outside regular working hours to align with the operational requirements from time to time.
- Able to work away from your home base in order to audit all network locations both nationally and internationally
- Demonstrated ability to critically review and write reports, tabled both internally and to external providers, including all management levels
- Previous QMS roles held
- Excellent understanding of internal policy and procedures related to aircraft maintenance
- Relevant knowledge of all elements of the CASR
