VARA operates out of Perth Airport and has a modern fleet that predominantly conduct charter operations throughout regional Western Australia. We are currently on a growth path and introducing the new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft into our fleet. What you’ll be doing:
You will play a pivotal role in preparing a dynamic team for the exciting launch of our first E190-E2 flights later this year. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of our Ramp team’s success by designing specialized, cutting-edge training materials and courses.
Your expertise will ensure that our ramp staff is fully equipped and prepared to greet our first aircraft with confidence and professionalism. This is not just about design—once the training materials are complete, you’ll also work alongside our Academy Trainers to deliver and engage with our teams, ensuring that every Ramp member excels in their role.
This hybrid role offers the perfect blend of creativity and hands-on training. After crafting high-quality course content, you’ll take on the rewarding challenge of supporting the delivery, ensuring our teams are fully ready for takeoff.
As a Training Design & Delivery Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing integrated learning and development packages for our Ramp teams that accurately reflect the needs of the business
- Assisting in the design of courseware including the definition of training objectives, delivery method (e.g. facilitation and computer-based), activities, content, media selection, and assessment instruments
- Reviewing course feedback forms, safety investigations, safety data trends, and audit findings to make improvements or updates to courseware
- Network and maintain relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the frontline
- Support with delivering classroom and practical training for the Ramp team – Induction, Recurrent and Up-skilling training
- Maintain operational knowledge of the Ramp role, airline regulations, and skills
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor Degree, Diploma, Cert IV qualification in teaching, adult learning, training & assessment or equivalent or experience in a similar role
- Ideally, demonstrated experience in course material design in Airline Ground Operations or an operational role
- Ramp team member experience
- Previous experience in training – classroom, practical, on the job
- Strong understanding of appropriate CASA regulations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to engage and deliver content, and engage stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate and build long-term stakeholder relationships
