Investor Relations Analyst

What you’ll be doing

The objective of the Investor Relations Analyst role is to be responsible for supporting investor relations through developing accurate presentation materials, internal reports, and external communications while building strong relationships with analysts and investors. This position also requires providing clarity on financial modelling and operational aspects of the business, ensuring all investor information effectively communicates Virgin Australia's investment proposition.

Working with the GM Investor relations and the CFO, develops investor materials that deepens the level of understanding of the Virgin Australia investment proposition and helps communicate that message to investors and market analysts. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Develops materials and assist in presenting investor meetings / non-deal roadshows / investor conferences and events for Virgin Australia 
  • Ensures the accuracy and validity of all information that is disseminated to investors and that only information already in the public domain is conveyed
  • Prepares and reviews internal Investor Relations reports for the CFO/ELT/Board, looking at recent trading analysis, performance versus peers, GM recommendations and target prices and other market trends (short interest, relative strength index etc.)
  • Develops strong and lasting relationships with market Analysts and investors (both current shareholders and potential shareholders) and deepens the level of understanding of Virgin Australia’ investment proposition
  • Provides guidance and advise on modelling and valuation issues to ensure that published models give a fair and representative analysis and valuation of the company

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree, Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar
  • Minimum 3 years' post graduate experience in Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting/Big 4 or a related field
  • Experience in a large, publicly listed business (or consulting to large ASX listed businesses)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced skills in Excel
  • Engaging and charismatic communication style, with strong written communication skills
  • Proficiency with financial data platforms (Bloomberg, etc.) 
  • Understanding of investor perspectives and capital markets
  • Ability to translate complex financial information into clear narratives
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, knowledge financial statement analysis, valuation methodologies and performance metrics
  • Familiarity with disclosure requirements and regulatory frameworks 
  • You must live in the greater Brisbane area for this role (or be willing to relocate here)
