In light of the our recent announcement that Virgin Australia Regional Airlines will replace the Fokker 100 fleet with new generation Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, we are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified Training Captains to join the team.

What you’ll be doing

Training Captains will be responsible for carrying out and ground training for Captains and First Officers and will train pilots to reach the standards defined by the Head of Training and Standards. Selected Training Captains will conduct training in an environment of continual improvement and safety awareness in accordance with the policies outlined in the VARA Training and Checking Manual (TCM).

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Australian ATPL(A) licence,
  • Australian Class 1 Medical,
  • Experience as a Captain conducting aircraft training and/or checking activities in a Part 121 Air Transport Operation,
  • Type rated on the Embraer E190-E1 or E190-E2,
  • Total experience 3500 minimum,
  • Command hours 2500 minimum (including 1500 multi-engine),
  • High standards of operational performance,
  • Highly motivated and ability to work independently and as part of a team,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
