Injury Management Specialist
12 Month Full Time contract ( June Start)
This is a hybrid position based in our Melbourne Airport offices

What you will be doing….
As an Injury Management specialist, you will assist our team members to return to work in a safe and timely manner in consultation with all stakeholders. You will be responding to new injury claims, building early intervention strategies, stakeholder management and of course return to work planning and management. This role will give you the opportunity to work closely with our health, wellbeing and WHS teams to develop and implement new systems to support and enhance injury management and prevention.
Responsibilities:
- Support employee rehabilitation and early return-to-work outcomes across various roles.
- Collaborate with health, wellbeing, and safety teams to reduce injuries and time off work.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Comcare/Agent, rehab providers, physiotherapists, and treating health professionals
- Monitor injured workers' recovery and support their return to suitable duties.
- Work with key stakeholders to overcome return-to-work challenges.
- Develop and improve return-to-work tools, resources, and business processes.
- Ensure employees and leaders receive up-to-date injury management information.
- Implement new systems to enhance injury management within VAA.
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Certified Return to Work Coordinator (Comcare trained) with a clinical background in Allied Health (e.g., Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist).
- Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Empathetic, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Knowledge of Comcare, WHS, medical terminology, and injury management processes.
- Strong administrative and technical skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently.
