What you’ll be doing
The Portfolio Organisational Change Manager (Operations) is responsible for driving the successful adoption of high-value, complex transformation initiatives across Virgin Australia’s Operations portfolio.
This role partners with HO OCM, Operations GMs, Transformation Leads, and frontline teams to ensure operational readiness, workforce engagement, and seamless change adoption. It leverages data insights from EVoC, Intelex, and other sources to manage change saturation risks, improve decision-making, and embed sustainable change within business-as-usual operations.
The focus is on execution, leadership, and impact—ensuring transformation initiatives deliver measurable benefits and support frontline teams through change.
Further responsibilities include:
- Identify and manage change risks using real-time insights. Recommend mitigation strategies to ensure minimal disruption to operations. (Includes CMP, Risk and Change Complexity Assessments, regular change reporting and change and risk board)
- Drive a culture of adaptability by embedding best-practice change methodologies into Operations Transformation initiatives.
- Promote two-way communication between Operations and Transformation teams and provide input to GM level internal messages on Ops Tx Initiatives
- Develop and execute change management strategies for large-scale transformation programs impacting frontline teams.
- Lead teams, when more than one change champions is deployed to complex initiatives which may include IT OCMs, Enterprise, or Operations
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Organisational Change Management certification (e.g., PROSCI or equivalent), or extensive experience in applied change roles
- 5+ years in organisational change management, transformation, or business readiness roles
- Expertise and experience in leading high-value, complex change initiatives.
- Ability to lead and execute change strategies for large-scale, frontline-impacting transformation initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and influencing skills
- Understanding of change governance, risk mitigation, and benefits realisation
- Experience working with operational teams undergoing major transformation
- Proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and data visualisation tools
