Aircraft Records Technical Support Officer
Full time role based at the Virgin Australia Airport Hangar

What you’’ll be doing….
The Aircraft Records team is responsible for processing, verifying, and maintaining records for the Virgin Australia fleet, including aircraft, engines, and components. These records are critical to ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities and leasing agreements, supporting the efficient and safe operation of our airline.
This is an administrative role with no direct reports, ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in supporting the safe and efficient operation of our airline.
- Aircraft Inductions & Lease Returns – Assist with initial aircraft and component data entry into TRAX and audit post-load records.
- Ensure delivery documentation is available on the intranet or VA SharePoint.
- Prepare and complete logbooks for aircraft, engines, and APUs during lease returns.
- Aircraft Lease Audits – Prepare aircraft records and TRAX reports for lease return.
- Identify missing records and source from archives to meet lease conditions.
- Provide support for lease return documentation and audits, including physical records verification.
- Component Configuration – Update and audit logbooks to reflect maintenance performed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond to aircraft auditing queries as per prescribed business procedures.
- Record Storage and Archiving – Conduct archive audits to ensure airworthiness records are properly maintained.
- Aircraft Heavy Maintenance Work Packs – Process work packs from Heavy Maintenance facilities, ensuring timely updates in TRAX.
- Identify and resolve gaps in Heavy Maintenance records, verifying task cards and certification in line with the VA Maintenance Control Manual (MCM)..
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar records role
- Advanced Computer skills (Excel) (Knowledge of TRAX would be an advantage)
- A sound knowledge of airline engineering functions/departments (would be an advantage)
- An understanding of CASA regulations pertaining to aircraft records in addition to knowledge of regulations applicable to aircraft maintenance (would be an advantage)
- Knowledge of Technical Data Control and or record keeping and experience with a Maintenance Information System
