About the role:
As a Financial Modeller, you will be responsible for understanding the linkage between program outcomes and financial impacts, and will prepare financial analysis, modelling and presentations to communicate these financial impacts. The modeller may be required to quickly evolve any financial analysis and modelling to reflect latest views of program outcomes, or pursue alternative thinking on financial impacts of the program.
You will support multiple workstreams associated with the program, working closely with the finance and transformation community across Virgin Australia. You will be required to stay aligned with existing analytical concepts and datasets used across the company, including existing approaches to transformation benefits, cost drivers, and management reporting.
You will need exceptional skills understanding complex cost & revenue levers (company-wide), working with large financial datasets, sophisticated financial modelling, and presenting complex analysis/modelling to senior management. You will lead the thinking on financial concepts for the program.
Further responsibilities:
- Understand the cost mechanics of the business, particularly relating to cost driven by changes in flight schedule, crew resource planning and operational performance
- High precision accuracy in model building and assumption validation
- Exceptional skills in understand complex cost and revenue levers, working with large datasets
- Actively engage with Operations stakeholders to accurately model revenue and cost levers
- Benefits valuation and identification of benefits metrics
- Preparing and presenting complex analysis to senior management
- Other ad hoc analysis and support as required
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Have at least 3 years’ experience building sophisticated models for a large, complex organisation
- Are very intelligent and can autonomously build complex models with high financial impact
- Strong analytical, visualisation, and presentation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in a highly analytical profession
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment
