Your Role
As the Head of Operations Risk & Business Support you’ll oversee Virgin Australia’s Safety Management System (SMS) and associated risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring they align with our goals and industry best practices. You'll lead strategic safety initiatives, champion safety culture, and drive operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Shape SMS Strategy: Drive the implementation and evolution of the SMS to support business growth and safety objectives.
- Lead Risk Management: Develop frameworks to measure and improve risk controls while analysing safety data for proactive solutions.
- Data Reporting: Shape and drive reporting processes, systems and governance packs
- Strengthen Emergency Preparedness: Oversee crisis response programs, from planning to annual exercises, ensuring readiness across all divisions.
- Collaborate & Lead: Work with senior leaders to align safety and resilience goals with broader company strategies.
- Regulatory Engagement: Act as a central coordinator for regulatory compliance, including Air Operators Certificate (AOC) changes and CASA liaison.
- Data-Driven Insights: Use safety data to guide decision-making and maintain measurable safety performance targets.
