Group Paid Media Manager

We are seeking a curious and creative Group Paid Media Manager to lead the execution of our paid media strategy across the Virgin Australia Group. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with our marketing teams to develop and implement media investment strategies across the full marketing funnel. Your expertise in leveraging data and ad technology will be key to driving measurable business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

Media Effectiveness:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and execute deliver effective media plans that align with KPIs
  • Manage performance media, metasearch, and affiliate budgets and forecasting
  • Guide the adoption of innovative media products and features
  • Leverage business and customer data through ad and marketing technologies
  • Lead project delivery and test-and-learn roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Ensure all paid media strategies adhere to privacy regulations

Reporting and Insights:

  • Develop a measurement framework that aligns with business priorities
  • Ensure compliance with the Third Party Tagging Governance framework
  • Create measurement solutions for reporting, testing, and optimization
  • Deliver insightful paid media reports to support business requirements

People Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead and develop a team of Specialists to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a test-and-learn culture within internal and agency teams.
  • Promote knowledge sharing to build capability and transparency across teams.
  • Collaborate with media agencies to achieve effective results and address improvement opportunities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver personalized customer journeys and Group-wide projects.

Innovation:

  • Identify trends and opportunities to enhance media activity and analytics capabilities.
  • Maintain and grow the Virgin Australia Group’s position as a digital leader.
  • Prioritize privacy regulation awareness and develop future-proof media solutions.

You’ll be great in this role if you:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business.
  • 8-10 years of experience in media and marketing (agency or client-side).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing people
  • Expertise in analytics platforms (e.g., Google Marketing Cloud, Adobe Analytics).
  • Proficient in digital media channels (social, search, display) and traditional media (OOH, TV).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and budget management skills.
