What you’ll be doing
The objective of the Revenue Accountant role is to develop/maintain best practice systems, processes and controls to ensure that forward sales, interline, no show and ancillary revenue is accounted for accurately and in a timely manner. The role involves understanding and analysing data with a view to continuous improvement to drive efficiencies and keep pace with industry and business change.
Responsibilities include:
- Revenue Accounting and Month End responsibilities including;
- Accurate and timely production of revenue/un-earned revenue, breakage and interline related results
- Review and analysis of revenue/un-earned revenue and interline items for accuracy and reasonableness
- Provide data or analysis to finance/ business to support the monthly results including adhoc requirement for information
- Ensure compliance with relevant credit policies on processing flight tickets and ancillary documents.
- Ensure completion of all balance sheet reconciliations
- Build effective & productive working relationships across the business and within finance
- Manage the development and maintenance of systems, processes, and controls for your area
- Compile audit work files with supporting documentation for external auditors
- Ensure all recommendations from Internal Audit are actioned in a timely manner
- Continuously look to identify and implement process improvements in relation to revenue accounting and processes
- Foster a positive working atmosphere
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- Accounting or Finance degree
- CPA/ CA Qualification (or working towards gaining this)
- High level of computer literacy, including advanced Excel spread sheet skills
- 3-5 years commercial experience, ideally in Revenue Accounting
- Experience in month-end accounting processes
- Experience in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to improve processes
- An eye for detail and ability to efficiently analyse financial information
- Aviation experience is preferred, but not essential
