The requirement of the Payroll Project Specialist is to provide crucial support in the number of key projects currently underway in the Virgin Australia payroll eco system, including Enterprise Agreement implementations, Ground Rostering Management Systems and Payroll Transformation project activities and system configurations and dependencies.
What you’ll be doing
Virgin Australia Group Payroll is a fast-paced environment, with a complex end of life payroll system that covers four legal employers across nine payrolls. This is a 12 month full time, fixed term contract reporting through to the Manager, Payroll Services. Your role responsibilities will cover a broad range of tasks including but not limited to:
- Perform detailed data analysis, process analysis document the “as is” and “to be” system states.
- Document the design and implementation methodology of changes to the payroll system as part of Enterprise Agreement implementations and other payroll led/consultive projects.
- Produce high quality design artefacts clearly articulating design intent and systems and business process interactions.
- Leverage payroll systems expertise to solve complex problems within payroll (and upstream) system constraints.
- Engage with subject matter experts from other parts of the business to understand and document requirements, conduct testing and problem solve to ensure technical compatibility.
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation and how it applies to systems.
- Working knowledge of enterprise payroll systems
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Understanding of key risks in payroll systems and common points of failure.
- Experience with Oracle Payroll or Oracle e-business suite (desirable)
- Payroll Implementation exposure and project experience.
- Sound project management and time management skills.
- Excellent communicator.
