About the role

Velocity now have over 9 million members across Australia and New Zealand and our members rely on us to keep their data safe, secure, and private. In addition to ensuring the data of our Members is stored, processed, and transacted properly, the Head of Information Security will be responsible for implementing and maintaining an information security program, including the following:

  • Continue to develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security program across Velocity Frequent Flyer
  • Monitor compliance with organisational security policies and standards; working with business units to implement business practices that meet defined policies and standards for corporate information security
  • Advise and influencing the VFF Executive team and Board of Directors on current and emerging threats as they relate to the operation of VFF’s digital assets
  • Build a threat intelligence capability and generating actionable advice to influence strategic decision making
  • Cultivate core relationships between internal and external partners and other third-party entities that support VFF’s security requirements for handling sensitive data 

What you’ll need

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, experience across both disciplines of IT Security
  • Professional security management certification, such as Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar credentials
  • Strong knowledge of common Information Security management frameworks
  • Experience in designing and managing new and existing security systems
  • Proven track record and experience in developing Information security programs, policies and procedures, including successful implementations in enterprise environments
  • Possess an understanding of network security technology, including strategy, design and architecture
  • Innovative thinking and leadership with an ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with internal and external stakeholder groups - including at Executive level
  • Demonstrated negotiation/influencing skills
  • Commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering business outcomes and successful vendor management
