What you will be doing:

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) operates from Perth Airport with a modern fleet of Embraer E190-E2 Aircraft, providing critical charter services throughout regional Western Australia. As a key partner to Australia's mining and resources sector, VARA is experiencing significant growth, making this an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our business.

As part of the Virgin Australia Group, you'll join an organisation that has transformed significantly over recent years, investing in fleet growth, technology, sustainability and customer experience, while remaining committed to being Australia's most loved airline.

We’re seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the successful delivery and embedding of several strategic initiatives across VARA. Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll be responsible for establishing and driving integrated program governance, ensuring multiple business and technology projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with lasting business outcomes.

Working across multiple departments, you'll ensure projects are aligned, risks are managed, stakeholders remain engaged and organisational change is successfully embedded.

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager you will:

  • Lead the governance and delivery of VARA’s critical VARA projects, ensuring successful implementation across multiple business and technology workstreams
  • Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans, governance frameworks, reporting, and executive decision-making processes.
  • Manage program scope, risks, dependencies, budgets, resources and milestones to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across VARA, the Virgin Australia Group and external partners to drive collaboration and successful outcomes.
  • Partner with Change Management to ensure effective business readiness, communication, training and adoption of new ways of working.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, governance, reporting and operational efficiency while supporting long-term business benefits.

You'll be great in this role if you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Aviation, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering complex, cross functional programs in operational and technology environments
  • Strong program governance, risk management and executive reporting experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels, including senior executives
  • Highly developed communication, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative, customer focused approach with a passion for delivering business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of project delivery, change management and governance frameworks would be beneficial
  • Project Management certification (PMI, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent) would be highly regarded
  • Experience in aviation, engineering, transport or another highly regulated industry would also be highly desirable
