Hello. We’re Virgin Australia.
We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We’re on a mission to make flying better than ‘nice’. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.

What you’ll be doing

In this key role, you’ll be responsible for the planning, coordination and monitoring of all resources required to deliver safe, timely and cost‑effective aircraft maintenance outcomes across both hangar and line operations.

You’ll do this by:

  • Planning and coordinating maintenance work packages to meet operational schedules across hangar and gate environments
  • Working closely with Part 42 or Line Planning, Maintenance Engineers and internal/external stakeholders to align aircraft ground time, resources and priorities
  • Reviewing and interpreting maintenance tasks to determine trade stream requirements, manpower levels, tooling, parts, subcontractors and safety needs
  • Monitoring maintenance checks and resolving resource or schedule constraints to ensure on‑time return to service
  • Forecasting short‑ and long‑term manpower, tooling and parts requirements to support efficient maintenance delivery
  • Updating rosters based on operational demand, absences and skills availability
  • Identifying production and delivery risks and escalating in line with Virgin Australia’s risk management framework
  • Ensuring accurate capture of maintenance data, costs and time to support performance, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Actively contributing to safety, security, wellbeing and business resilience initiatives, always challenging unsafe behaviours and adhering to all procedures

Safety is at the heart of everything you do, and you’ll play an active role in our Safety Management System and emergency response programs.

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Experience planning and forecasting resources within an aircraft maintenance environment
  • Proven experience coordinating maintenance work packages and aircraft maintenance records
  • Strong knowledge of Part 145 and Part 42 regulatory requirements
  • The ability to interpret technical manuals and maintenance data to build effective production plans
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to negotiate priorities and influence outcomes
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • A proactive, self‑starter mindset with the ability to adapt to changing operational demands
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with maintenance systems and data

You’ll also need:

  • A valid State Driver’s Licence
  • The ability to hold an ASIC and ADA Level 2 clearance

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Tertiary or trade qualifications (AME / Certificate IV in Aeroskills)
  • 5+ years’ aviation experience
  • Experience with production control systems and CMMS (including TRAX)
  • Knowledge of Boeing aircraft documentation and MSG‑3 planning principles

We’re committed to looking after you

You’ll enjoy some of the best benefits and conditions in the industry, including (but not limited to):

  • Discounted flights for you and your loved ones (including $1,000 in annual travel credits)
