What you'll be doing:
As the Product Lead for our Economy Retail menu, you’ll shape, evolve, and deliver the end‑to‑end menu across our network. This includes strategy development, delivery of new concepts, commercial assessment, and working with partners and teams across the airline and externally to design and deliver an onboard menu that truly satisfies guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the product category to take new ideas from ideation through to testing, approval and execution
- Manage the product lifecycle including suppliers, costs, timelines, risks etc, working closely with multiple teams across the business
- Develop new strategies to continuously improve customer satisfaction and optimise revenue through data analysis, market comparison, customer insights and research
- Identify customer and operational pain points and design food & beverage solutions that align with Virgin Australia’s Customer Value Proposition
- Lead competitive benchmarking, trend analysis, and customer research to inform product direction
- Monitor product performance, supplier performance, and revenue insights, using tools such as Excel and PowerBI to analyse trends
- Communicate product decisions and program status across all levels of stakeholders, including frontline teams
This is an 18 month maximum term opportunity.
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline
- Bring proven experience in product development, category management, food & beverage operations or customer experience focused roles
- Have experience in food safety and operational management
- Demonstrate a strong track record of delivering products or projects against agreed KPIs, supported by effective change management capability
- Are able to connect, engage, and influence a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, through clear and compelling storytelling
- Bring your authentic self to work and collaborate confidently across the organisation
- Are a confident and capable user of PowerPoint and Excel
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
