About the role:
We’re looking for an experienced Organisational Change Manager – AI Transformation to support the implementation and embedment of Virgin Australia’s AI transformation roadmap at a pivotal moment in our growth journey. Based at Virgin Australia’s Brisbane Head Office, this role will play a key part in helping us evolve into a more digitally enabled, data-led airline where AI is central to how we operate, from improving operational efficiency and decision-making to enhancing the experience we deliver to our guests and our people.
Reporting to the Head of Organisational Change Management, you’ll be at the forefront of this transformation partnering closely with our AI Transformation team, senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business to ensure AI is not just implemented, but truly embedded into how we work.
In addition, you will:
- Support the design and delivery of the AI change strategy, aligned to business outcomes and leveraging existing taxonomy, champion and super-user networks
- Assess and manage change impacts across roles, processes, decision-making and skills, identifying where AI fundamentally shifts how work is done
- Lead and embed process redesign and evolution of ways of working, ensuring operating models, workflows and governance are optimised to fully realise the value of AI.
- Enable strong leadership alignment and sponsorship, equipping leaders to confidently advocate for and role-model AI adoption
- Drive workforce readiness and capability uplift, including readiness assessments, training pathways and supporting role redesign where required
- Partner with the AI Transformation team to help embed change, drive adoption and realise value from new ways of working, supporting the delivery of both financial and non-financial benefits through assessment and implementation of approved business cases
- Embed sustainable behaviour change and new ways of working, ensuring AI becomes part of BAU across the enterprise
- Develop clear, audience-specific communications, helping our people understand the “why, what and what it means for me”
- Leverage and grow change champion networks, building momentum and advocacy across the organisation
- Track adoption and success metrics, using insights to refine change strategies and maximise impact
What you’ll bring:
You’re a strategic and hands-on change professional who thrives in complex, evolving environments and knows how to bring people on the journey.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide change programs (5+ years), particularly those involving behavioural and cultural change
- Strong knowledge of change management methodologies, tools and frameworks
- The ability to translate complex, technical concepts (such as AI) into simple, meaningful messages for diverse audiences
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels
- Experience working with champion or super-user networks to drive adoption and engagement
- A proactive, adaptable mindset—you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience in aviation or similarly complex, operational environments
- Formal qualifications in business, behavioural science, or a related field
- Recognised Organisational Change Management certification
